"Nothing is agreed to until everything is agreed to.."
Barack Obama

Let's stop dancing around like small children and see how this plays out. It is not over yet. Some might say, it hasn't even started. In my opinion, there is a lot of premature rejoicing. It is not over until it is over.

Nobody here can read the President's mind. They have no idea if he was only bluffing when he offered to cut Medicare and Social Security or if he was serious. History might predict the latter. Nonetheless, this is a critical time for our country and for our Party. We don't have to idolize the President to see that.

Don't set yourself up for a huge disappointment. Wait and see what happens. In a way, the game has just started. Let's hope for the best and celebrate when it is over. Furthermore, it shows a complete lack of class and maturity.

LET'S SEE HOW THINGS PLAY OUT? hahahaha....Here at DU where most people hyperspeculate (without having most of the facts) about everything in the most negative light about Obama....hahaha...and then when things look to be going good for Obama and dems the 24/7 irrational Obama haters all of a sudden stop and say, "well let's just see how things play out." This is too funny.

2. We see Obama in a negative light because of HIS ACTIONS. not becuase we want to see
him in a negative light. He signed into law the tax cuts last December which created this entire mess. He guaranteed by doing that that our economy will be f...... for a very long time. He has continued Bush policies over and over and over, even though the people of the US do not support such policies.

I am with the poster. I am concerned that Obama proposed 1.7 trillion in cost cuts and .3 in taxes. That is an awful proposal. I hope that offer is not in existence any longer. That offer is terrifying. Today was a good day for our side, but the paper has not been signed yet. He made one good move today, hundreds of bad moves over the past 2 years.

7.  So obvious, isn't it? Then there's "This is the guy I voted for" which to Obama
supporters means what it says. To his disparagers it means "I refuse to admit I've been an asshole".
