New WI Poll: With Recalls looming Walker approval falls to 37%
WISCONSINITES VIEWS ON BADGER STATE ECONOMICS, GOVERNMENT, AND POLITICS
The most recent UW Badger Poll finds that a majority of Wisconsinites are not happy with current state of affairs in the Badger state.
55% are dissatisfied with the way things are going in the state today, a new high for the UW Badger Poll.
81% said Wisconsin is in bad times economically and 50% expect it will be in about the same economic condition in the next 12 months, while 20% said things will get worse.
Nearly two-thirds of Wisconsinites feel that state government is run for the benefit of a few big interests over that of all the people and can only be trusted to do the right thing some of the time.
59% disapprove of the way Scott Walker is handling his job as Governor.
60% disapprove of the way the State Legislature is handling its job.
o 56% disapprove of the job Republicans in the State Legislature are doing.
o 48% disapprove of the job Democrats in the State Legislature are doing.
Wisconsinites overwhelming think the recall option in the state constitution is a good thing (78%), and 50% said the current recalls of state senators made them feel better about Wisconsin politics.

Job approval for Governor Scott Walker
A majority of Wisconsin residents (59%) disapprove of the way that Scott Walker is handling his job as Governor. In fact, a majority (53%) said they either very much or extremely disapprove of the way Walker is handling the job of being Governor of Wisconsin. This compares to the 28% of residents who said they very much or extremely approve of the way Walker is handling the job as Governor.

4. I was wondering about that - and wondering if maybe Grayson
would prefer that gig.

What did these people think? That once elected they were untouchable? That people wouldn't "notice" that they threw all their campaign promises out the window and charged ahead destroying the lives of the citizens?

The silver lining may be that maybe next time, people won't be so eager to "send a message" and will pay closer attention to whom they put in office. Maybe.

2. It was reported that the poll was conducted using land-lines....
...which, in my humble opinion, greatly skews the results. Like any poll, this one should be taken with a few grains of salt.




Most polls are designed to influence public opinion, not measure it.

3. if that is the case and only land lines were used then I would assume Walker would be in

even worse shape politically.

And since I live in WI I would say it fairly accurately demonstrates how WI citizens feel about this governor and the legislature.

6. I agree, land lines are likely to tip the scales to the right...
...and as another Wisconsin resident, I agree he's in big trouble.

First test is next week. Then August 16th. We'll know alot more after that.
