Mired In Scandal, News Corp Seeks New York State’s Signoff For $27 Million No-Bid Contract

Australian billionaire Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation has been at the center of an explosive scandal as it has been revealed that a few of his publications hacked into the personal data of policemen, politicians, murder victims, and others. News Corp’s journalists may even have hacked into the phones of American victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Yet while these shocking allegations continue to come out, the state of New York is preparing to finalize a $27 million no-bid contract to Wireless Generation, an education firm specializing in testing that is owned by News Corp itself. As the acquisition was announced, Murdoch said he sees a “$500 billion sector in the U.S. alone that is waiting desperately to be transformed by big breakthroughs.”

But according to Carl Korn, a spokesman for the New York State United Teachers, there is still a way to stop the deal. Korn told ThinkProgress the State Comptroller has yet to finalize the deal and approve the money for News Corp, and that the state can still end the dealing of the no-bid contract that the state education department awarded. With the eyes of the world on the disgraced News Corp, it is up to New York’s state government to decide if it wants to award millions of taxpayer dollars to a disgraced company.

11. It appears that the dark side

Is being exposed by the light, and it is happening VERY QUICKLY. I wonder if we all really understand the implications of taking Murdoch and hopefully FAUX down. Exposing them FINALLY for the lies and deception and darkness they have infested our country with.

And expose the politicians who are sitting in Washington right this moment and throwing our country to the wolves (or to the foxes as it were..). Expose them and don't let up! Find the connections, show the proof that they are bought and owned. Show how this billionaire is connected to the Koch brothers (you know he is) and the other billionaires and how there has been a well developed plan to own America and create slaves out of the poor, sick, imprisoned and young. Show how they are working to DE-educate our youth, keep us from getting the health care we deserve as human beings in the United States of America and how they have manipulated the financial stability of our country while enriching themselves.

We need to know this and I think that nearly all congressional republicans (I won't say all, but its nearly all and unfortunately some democrats too) are in on this agenda and right now are basically, crapping themselves waiting for the next scandal to connect them to this - like bugs being caught in a web.

I pray that we make it through this and that we all don't go down with them. They are working as fast as they can to put their plans into action, state by state. It has been obvious to those of us who follow politics; now it is about to reach the every day public.
