HHS Announces New Investments in School-Based Health Centers

http://www.enewspf.com/latest-news/health-and-fitness/25429-hhs-announces-new-investment-in-school-based-health-centers.html

The awardees are currently serving approximately 790,000 patients. Today’s awards will enable them to increase their capacity by over 50-percent, serving an additional 440,000 patients. School-based health centers improve the overall health and wellness of all children through health screenings, health promotion and disease prevention activities and enable children with acute or chronic illnesses to attend school.

2. Actually, the "sold out" part was about putting Social Security up for cuts in deals with Repigs.
Does this touch on that in some way? If not, then what are you talking about? Or are you just creating a strawman to knock down?

12. You know, I would really like to credit some people, but it's that talk about stuff THAT HAS NOT
HAPPENED, as though it HAS happened AND they know everything there is to know about everything, that REALLY just makes me wonder what the fucking hell some people think they are doing here!!

They're engaging in the very behavior that WILL undercut what they ***SAY*** their goals are AND they are engaging in that behavior with half-truths, out-right lies in some cases, mis-characterizations, generalizations, unfounded absolutist predictions, very poor logic, and little or no information about stuff that hasn't even happened yet. It's crazy. If someone is concerned about an issue, why would they be concerned in a manner that is so thoroughly and completely fraught with errors and what just REALLY looks like bad faith communication, unless they are working for the opposite of what they say?

If we are to credit a point of view, and believe me I WANT to, is it toooooooooooo much to expect that the point of view NOT be so deeply and inherently flawed? especially on so simple a point as that no one seems to have anything REAL that they are referring to, because most of what they say has not even happened yet. I don't understand this and it IS deeply disappointing.

I'm being called paranoid and avoided like the plague around here now, except when I post nice things in threads that have the PC housekeeping seal of approval. I am now considering somekind of personal vetting process for anyone I actually work with through November 2012, in order to identify what their commitment to the process has been.

The people jumping to blindly support Obama prior to the deal coming to a conclusion are becoming exactly what they decried. Everybody's a hypocrite.

13. Which is just EXACTLY as true of those who are jumping to cut his support out from under him as it
Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 02:44 PM by patrice
is of those jumping to support him. And if you can't admit that fact, then that proves of my point.

Based upon what any/all of us, apparently, know about anything, the fact that some Obama-thing has not happened is not proof that it CANNOT happen. There is no logical NECESSITY in, "It has not happened, therefore it will not happen" - unless, of course, one is working to make whatever it is not-happen, and even then, that's not a 100% necessity, it's only an increase in the probability that it will not happen due to one's efforts to make that so.

If someone comes up with more specifically detailed factual information that reveals the high level probability that _____________ cannot happen, and ADMITS that strong though it may be it's still ONLY a probability, that's another matter. I'm just not seeing any of that around here.

Admitting those probabilities (instead of insisting on absolutes, especially unfounded "absolutes") is what drives human minds forward toward new information and understandings. Resisting them and mis-characterizing them looks very suspicious.

I don't believe I said anything to make you believe your own strawman. In fact, I said everybody's a hypocrite. Your response looks like it took valuable time to write, but hey, it's your time. My plants need watering. Cya. "...then that proves of my point."

24. Re rubber: If it is possible for you, it is possible for anyone else too. And if it is not
possible for them, then it is not possible for you, that is unless you are God and own all truth in perfection.

Sometimes it is hypocrisy; sometimes it is a recognition of the necessary contradictions inherent in our limited perceptions of the complexity of reality.

25. Old deconstructionist here. Lots of people never stop to think about what we are doing
when we use words. It's kind of funny that some of those very same people like to quote Noam Chomsky.

Thanks for the pat on the back! I needed it. This place is getting to me; I'd stay away, but . . . . Well, may I really should just stay away for a while.
