If sarahpac.com updated Palin's 'target map', how many of the 20 crosshairs would be red?
I was astounded to find that fully EIGHTEEN of the twenty 111th Congress's Democratic House seats targeted in crosshairs on Sarah Palin's "controversial target map" went to Republicans.

The only exceptions were Gabby Giffords (D-AZ8) and Nick Rahall (D-WV3).

On Palin's pre-election map (see it at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x148077 ), three districs had red rather than white crosshairs on them, indicating that incumbent Democrats had announced their retirements. Republicans took all three of these open seats.

Following the same graphical practice, 15 of the 17 districts where Democratic incumbents ran for re-election now would have red crosshairs too, because Republicans defeated those incumbents.

Are you surprised by the overwhelming success of Sarah Palin's "controversial target map"?

Do you think she'd ever use this tactical device again?

Did the Tucson mass-murderer know that only Giffords and Rahall survived the midterm elections? Was he trying to turn another of Palin's crosshairs red?

Does Nick J. Rahall II (WV-3) need to wear a bullet-proof vest for the next few weeks?

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?

Election Results for districts in Palin's crosshairs, from http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW_by_State.shtml :

1. Thank you, anonymous recommender. Makes me regret the 20 minutes I spent researching
this a bit less.

4. You're correct - Giffords wasn't one of 20 on the map, she was one of TWO who won their
elections and are still seen as a threat. The other 18 are no longer a threat but she is.

Thanks for the research and keep not letting people spin this the wrong way. She wasn't "1 of 20" who just happened to be targeted out of coincidence. There were only TWO names on the list who are considered targets and one of them just happened to get shot in the head yesterday.

7. I just can't believe that none of the 'journalists' I've seen 'reporting' for hours on this
have had their staffs do the basic web research that took me 20 minutes.

But I bet Rachel Maddow will point out what Giffords and Rahall have in common Monday.

10. Thank you. I asked myself an obvious question (Who won?) and answered it with
a list of House winners by State and CD.

I am AMAZED that none on the 24/7 media apparently have asked what I asked and done what I did.

9. Right--Palin started with a list of 100% Ds, ending with a list of 90% Rs. "2nd Amendment
Remedies" (remember Sharron Angle's Nevada campaign gaffe) NONETHELESS were sought by the extremist, Palin-Facebook-liking Tucson mass murderer.

Tea-partiers apparently NEVER are satisfied with annything less than 100% victory for plutocrats and their millions of dumbed-down, Fox-watching dupes.
