So if terrorists hate us because of our freedom, does that mean they'r starting to like us? |
|
A friend just posted that on FB as his status. Interestingly enough he was born and raised on an island in Belize. His Dad is an ex-pat American and his Mom is native Belizian. He's 21 and living in Austin while going to UT studying music. It's nice to see that someone with a little different perspective of American life can see the real picture so clearly.
It also gives me hope to see that the young see the irony/hypocrisy of the Republic Party spouting about "protecting our freedoms" while systematically taking them away.

4. Terrorists hate us because we're in their homeland usurping their resources |
|
It has nothing to do with our perceived level of 'freedom', which is just another word for nothin' left to lose.

5. You speak like a true Democrat and I agree... |
|
We're talking about the majority of Americans that voted Bush in twice.

6. Freedom was the bushco propaganda buzzword - they hate us for a multitude of other reasons |
|
- we invade countries, start wars and then sell every country on the planet weapons we export - they hate us for exploiting 3rd world country labor market - they hate us for plundering other countries natural resources - they hate us for Abu Graib and Gitmo - they hate us for our hypocrisy with the drug wars - they hate us for our invasive symbols of capitalism, such as putting yellow arches all over the planet etc, etc,

10. Us young people are quickly losing confidence |
|
in our system of government. I was born in '85. I have never known the world without war, I've seen two stolen elections, and 2 democrats that sold out the american working class...
First with NAFTA and Gatt trade agreements. The Patriot act, extralegal assassinations, extradition, and confinement (By both parties)
And we are paying into a system that will never show us a return if we continue down this road.
My girlfriend and I would like to have a child, but we don't think it's a good idea to have kids, the expense, and the risk.
Money in politics is bribery, not democracy...I don't see government working for us ever again.
Ive been pondering breaking up into a number of small countries...I think thats the way it will go.
Peace
