4. Certainly too early to rule it out.
I've been unimpressed by the number of DUers saying "of course not", often in ruder terms than that. It may well not be the case, but then again it may be.

9. Ummm.... why wouldn't a "radical leftist" target... I dunno, a neocon?
Edited on Sun Jan-09-11 09:55 AM by Gamow
Why in heck would a leftist shoot a Democrat in a state that has almost nothing but radical neocons?

19. Yea, in a state that has TONS of neocon leaders, a radical leftist" shoots one of the only moderate
Dems, and a judge who just happened to be there.
Nice logic.

24. The most likely answer appears to be "because there was something serious wrong with him".
But, again, I should stress that this is all pure guesswork; the information hasn't been released yet.

5. Twitter
Twitter, and its twin evil Facebook, have replaced email chains as the primary source of bullshit.

How long did that take?

7. You want a comment? How about 'consider the source'?
I pay no mind to any corporate media outlet that spouts such codswollop. If you care to name names, then maybe we'll have more to talk about. As it is, this stance is nebulous and without citation of source.

10. I'm being hit with "but he's a radical leftist"...
I don't think reading the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf qualify as a radical leftist by our definition.

I think he's more of a libertarian than leftist.

I'm just so emotional right now I can't form coherent rebuttals and I'm looking for some good information to refute those claims.

8. That was from a tweet...
Edited on Sun Jan-09-11 09:55 AM by liberalmuse
by a conservative girl who claims she went to school with him back in 2006. Apparently she considered him 'very liberal' and tweeted that he smoked pot and listened to Hendrix. In other words, it appears she wanted to paint him as a liberal. Frankly, I want to know what his politics were the day he started shooting innocent people. He's a hard one to figure if you just go by his YouTube profile. He lists one of his favorite books as, 'To Kill A Mockingbbird', and another as 'Mein Kampf'. I think we'll have to wait and see what unfolds. I guess we may be able to surmise right now that this young man most likely had some serious mental issues.

11. It's funny ... there are millions of people who are now 'baggers who claim
they "used to be Democrats/Liberals" ... but were "turned" due to the "policies of Obama/Democrats".

Of course, there were 50 million + people who voted for Bush43 and the straight Republican tickets ... why is it so hard to find anybody who admits they voted for Bush43 these days? Because they get away with lying.

12. I saw an interview with a supposed "friend" of Loughners this am
She flat came out and said "he was a radical lefty". The entire interview she seemed very unsure of what she was saying.

Hmmm...
The problem is, both of these people are only 22 years old.

She admits to NOT having seen or talked to him in 4 years, yet she alleges she ALSO went to college with him. They graduated in 2006.

That would make each of them 18 at that time.

The story doesn't wash at all. I have to wonder what HER motives are for inserting herself into this situation. Attention whore? What is her affiliation to the Teabaggers? Did they search for someone that he went to school with to paint a picture of fault?

She just didn't sound very believable. At all.

Except mentally ill - maybe shizophermia or brain damage from alcohol poisoning or perhaps other drugs

The left insists he is right andante right insists he is left - and neither knows anything but their own rhetoric. There is a good chains he is neither and the victims could care less
