6. FBI has associated Laughner with "American Rennaissance"
an anti-Semetic, anti-immigrant, anti-government group.

Perhaps this is why the guy is not rushing to turn himself in.

8. Can you provide some sort of link to a reliable source that says

that the FBI has linked Laughner to any group? If so, please post it here. If not, please tell us how you learned of this. Thanks.

That man was invited soon as his picture went out on the national news.

16. Maybe he doesn't watch TV all day
Edited on Sun Jan-09-11 10:40 AM by slackmaster
I didn't hear about the shooting until about 30 minutes ago. I spent yesterday working outside and in my shop, and didn't watch any news or read Internet forums at all.

I'm afraid to open the newspaper this morning after seeing the carnage on DU.

Sometimes I intentionally avoid the news because it gets so sad.

I can't automatically attribute some kind of bad motive to the guy just because he hasn't spoken with police. Maybe he's just scared shitless. Maybe he's an undocumented immigrant and afraid of being deported.

19. It's not a question of what you or I would do.
The "person of interest" could have any number of reasons for avoiding the police, most of which would have nothing to do with this shooting.

20. Well yea if I was wanted for murder or other felony I might not turn myself in
But if I were wanted for some petty larceny I think I would own up to it and want to tie up these loose ends if I had nothing to do with the shooting.

Common sense.

BREAKING: Authorities Clear 2nd Man In Shootings
Cab Driver Was 'Person Of Interest,' Drove Suspect To Store

Arizona authorities said a second man has been cleared of any involvement in an attempted assassination of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson.

Pima County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Ogan said Sunday that the man was a cab driver who drove the suspected gunman to the Safeway grocery store outside of which the shooting occurred.

Ogan said the man went into the store because the gunman apparently hadn't paid his fare.

Authorities said they had been seeking the man as a suspected accomplice because he was captured on security cameras near the gunman and at the scene Saturday
