A-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n....

Watching this debt limit debate is like watching the old commercial of the tomato ketchup (catsup) slowly coming out of the bottle. (With Carole King or Carly Simon?)

But, it is coming to an end. One way or the other, it cannot go on forever. It must come to an end. The ketchup will come out of the bottle eventually.

The one thing that would end it quickly would be if there were a poll showing the Repubs would likely lose the House in the next election if they do not come to a resolution soon.

Democrats need to remain patient. The Republicans are getting a lot of pressure from CEO's, Wall Street, and outside sources. They cannot maintain their present stance for much longer. Patience, my friends, patience...

1. I Wish I Shared Your Optimism
I think the Republicans want us to default - they stand to gain more from it and Democrats stand more to lose.

If our credit is downgraded, the economy gets worse and they can blame President Obama for it because people always think that the person currently in the White House is most responsible for the economy.

If we can't reach a deal on budge negotiations, the government stops spending, something small government Conservatives want anyway.

Seems like for the Republicans it's heads they win, tails we lose.

3. It's slooooow good
I believe it was Carly Simon.

I agree that patience is our best weapon against these thugs, simply because it's not in THEIR nature to be patient. They'll blink first.
