5. It took us a while to come to this point but the problem is something that plagues every structure
of our country. Corporatism, capitalism and greed.

I assume that some countries take the power in their own hands and bring their citizens government controlled media to control the message.

It's all bad.

12. Yet...
... a Saudi has a large portion of Fox News. That shouldn't be legal, either. I know Murdoch became a US citizen, but a Saudi has no business owning that much of a TV broadcasting company.

15. This is not a good week for Fox sycophants
FCC license is partially based on character. Murdoch's license needs to be seized.

18. Couldn't agree more
And I don't understand how anyone can condone a Saudi citizen owning such a large portion of a media company and still be allowed to operate in the US.

Why are you trying to change the subject?

And by the way, I have been having a great week. ;)

10. We don't allow it either
It's against our laws, however he made it through the back door by becoming a US Citizen. I'd like to know why a Saudi is allowed to have that much of an interest in News Corp and Faux and it isn't an issue. That to me seems like a huge problem.

19. Character is supposed to matter in granting FCC licenses, but Murdoch
skated through with probably a little help from repubs. Murdoch's little internet pallies seem to be popping up everywhere I notice.

32. Okay, so he's a U.S. citizen
By that logic, he should be allowed to run for POTUS, right?

The fact of the matter is that media is now an extremely powerful force in this country, and I'm simply not cool with guys like Murdoch owning huge portions.
