Does the tea party want a default?
Excellent question by Contessa brewer.

Short answer: Yes.

In their magical thinking, almost religious thinking, that will help destroy the enemy. That is big government.

4. That applies to most Americans.
Hell, I'll go out on a limb and include a fair number of people here, even a majority.

23. & the people leading them - don't explain it
some don't due to their own blind ideology and chosen ignorance in order to support the ideology (or if not ideology - the "win at all costs" ugly politics - policy outcomes be-damned.

others aren't explaining it, b/c they don't think it will really happen - and want to keep the "fight" on.

yet others - now those folks (Norquist, Kock, et al) they are insidious.

3. Yes they do
They live in a fantasy world where the Federal Reserve is the evil of all evils and that blowing up the economy is the only way to save it.

6. This is just one more consequence of the GOP's aversion to actual
facts whether they be scientific or economic. When you live in a world where the answer to everything is either, ignore the liberal media or have faith in God, you get perverse illogic of the type we see regularly from the GOP.

The likes of Michelle Bachmann, Louie Gohmert ("Gohmert Pyle"), and the wretched Steve King -- all you need to know.

biggest reason is to destroy Barack Obama.

OxyRush said the same thing (then denied it even when his
words were on tape) before Obama was even inaugurated.

17. A Default Can Be A Money Making Opportunity...
...just ask Erik Cantor. There are those ready to hedge the dollar and hope interest rates go sky high due to a default. They're lining up at the gambling casinos known as brokerage houses ready to short the dollar the moment Moodys drops the rating. Of course 99.9% of the teabaggers have no clue about this...all they hear is "job creators" and "cut spending" and are clueless about what the debt ceiling is about or who created a majority of this mess. But they don't care...their hatred of this President blinds all...and once again leads millions to vote and do things against their own best interests. And for that the super rich thank you...

Yeah, okay, he's a Democrat - but he's black and that's far more disturbing for them.

combined with free floating rage and an irrational desire to strike out.

They are going to be terribly surprised when they are the people who get hit.

26. A guy on my friends facebook posted something
and it really sounded so even and reasonable...and that is what scares the shit out of me and why others can believe them.

The fuckwad LECTURED me on my response to a post by a friend. And it sounded so reasonable.

I finally ended the exchange by just saying that people like him scare the shit out of me because they get others to listen to them and believe them and then they end up voting against their own best interests. They are the ones that are destroying this country.
