Murdoch Apologizes For His "Sorry" Ass With Bullshit
Edited on Fri Jul-15-11 11:32 AM by kpete
"We are sorry for the serious wrongdoing that occurred. We are deeply sorry for the hurt suffered by the individuals affected.

"We regret not acting faster to sort things out.

"I realise that simply apologising is not enough. Our business was founded on the idea that a free and open press should be a positive force in society. We need to live up to this.

"In the coming days, as we take further concrete steps to resolve these issues and make amends for the damage they have caused, you will hear more from us."

Mr Murdoch told the newspaper that he intended to challenge the "total lies" that had been spread about News Corp when he appeared before MPs on Tuesday.

8. You Can Bet Your Boots That Murdoch Hired A Firm To Do Damage Control..........
Edited on Fri Jul-15-11 11:44 AM by global1
I just hope the Brits and us don't buy the B.S.

We can't let Murdoch off just because he says he's sorry. Not happening.

Upon edit: Do we know which firm they might have hired? If so, whom were this firms clients in the past? BP maybe? Exxon maybe?

14. The best firms are unknown to the public anyway...
I bet most people here couldn't name one firm off the top of their heads, without benefit of The Google.

I would be very surprised to find out otherwise.

7. A statement that took several days for his lawyers to prepare.

Various other weasels and sycophantic stooges probably also had a hand in it.
Q: With so much time to prepare it ... this is the best they could come up with?

11. About 3 Years Too Late For That Rupe...
If this had been a handful of people rather than thousands maybe this "mea culpa" would suffice. But we're dealing with a man who put the British tabloid press on steroids and unleashed a right wing monster in the U.S. and whose flaunted his brash and "win at all costs" attitude to allienate or intimidate. His brand, which had a dubious reputation at best is now tainted in the UK and could also happen in the US as well. What little shred of credibility Rupert could buy is now crumbling as his byzantine corporate world is being exposed.

I still have no real gauge where this is headed...and admit my delight at seeing the old man's world crumble in front of his own eyes and lies. My hopes are this scandal drags on for the next year or so and neutralizes the faux noise machine during the next election. But also be careful...Rupert is a caged animal and they are always the most dangerous.
