I was just reading DU without logging in a few minutes ago, and found the "Get a hot Russian Wife"

ad sexist at best, creepy at worst. I eralize these women make their own choices, but often those choices become coerced by way of economic conditions, etc...making these things just a step above human trafficking. It's disappointing to see this on DU. Frankly, this bothers me more than the "meet your meat" ad.

5. I don't think DU has much control over what ads are placed on the site.

IIRC, they contract with an advertising company that puts up numerous ads without needing approval for any of them and DU gets a fee for clicks. They need ad revenue to fund DU.

4. I know someone who got a "hot Russian wife."

He went to Russia and got her a fiancee vista to the U.S. My next-door neighbor who was from Ukraine, tried to warn him against doing that. He said that all those women wanted was to get into the U.S. Well, they never married and she stayed with him for a couple of months and left, but not back to Russia.

A family member met a Korean girl in the army. Married her, they get back to the states. She moves all her family here then dumps him.

8. AdBlock a start, but have something done with your hosts file. Every computer connected

to the internet uses this file. The more you put in it the more is blocked.
