Keith Olbermann apologised
for his words on candidate Hilary Clinton on Friday. Pray tell what did he say about HR Clinton back then that is considered inflamatory?

14. Can you tell me what this means?
I'm a bit tired right now, so maybe I am just not "getting it." If you could explain it, I would be grateful...

2. My memory on this is fuzzy so don't quote me
I think he may have said something about the need to "take her out" in the context of primaries. Keith was very partisan toward Obama over Clinton during the primaries. It bothered me at the time how committted he was to tearing her down on his show.

4. Keith Olbermann's Idea For Beating Hillary: Literally Beating Hillary
Fineman said that, all the delegate math aside, ultimately it was going to take "some adults somewhere in the Democratic party to step in and stop this thing, like a referee in a fight that could go on for thirty rounds. Those are the super, super, super delegates who are going to have to decide this."

Said Olbermann: "Right. Somebody who can take her into a room and only he comes out."

5. It is long past time for that apology
KO ought never have favored one Dem candidate over others during the last primaries - and he ought not have ratcheted up the rhetoric to the level he did. I lost a lot of respect for him.

7. That's about when I quit watching him.
I was not a big Hillary fan, but I thought Keith's angry rhetoric regarding her was too much. He was an arrogant asshole and although I'm glad he finally got around to apologizing for it, it doesn't really change my opinion of him. Bye again, Keith.

6. But you could argue that he was saying that to an audience that is
not likely to have weapons versus saying that to an audience that is armed to the hilt and has a propensity to shoot things.
Therefore, I don't think he could be negligent if a shooting were to take place. Sort of like going into monestary and telling them to defeat al queda. You'd probably have better luck instead going to a military compound and saying that.

11. Waiting for Obama and company including McClurkin to do the
same. McClurkin called for war on gay people, said the gloves have to come off because gays are trying to kill children. Obama employed him on the primary trail. Defended the hate speech as reflecting the feelings of 'good, decent and moral people'. Refused to apologize, and continued to employ that one and several others who have called gay people thieves, prostitutes, and so forth.
I wonder who here can explain to me how calling for war on a minority group is acceptable? When I fist came to DU, many defended McClurkin while at the same time calling the Clintons rasists, monsters, vermin, etc.
I never understood that double standard, and I stil do not.

12. His rhetoric may have been inflammatory, but taken in complete and
whole context of his career and philosophies, it is a minor blip on the radar screen of vitriol.

Apologizing is fine, but please don't make the false comparison to Beck, Limbaugh, Savage, Palin and others of that ilk.

Don't make the same mistake Jon Stewart did.
