Murdoch's Number One Harpy takes a tumble. Today's biggest phone hacking stories all in one spot.
Hello! Here is a breakdown for the best of the phone hacking stories I've come across! Please feel free to link any other interesting articles you run across!

Rebekah Brooks resigns over phone-hacking scandal
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/15/rebekah-brooks-resigns-phone-hacking-scandal

Rupert Murdoch loves him some Rebekah Brooks. She is a nasty piece of work, too. She began as a secretary and through evil and low-down deeds clawed her way into Rupert Murdoch's evil dark heart. They are birds of a feather and Murdoch cares about her so much that he killed the News of the World. Yes, Murdoch took the world's LARGEST paper and killed it for this woman.

Murdoch did everything he could to keep her safe. Now all he can do is try to keep her out of jail.

The Murdochs were called to speak, under oath to Parliament and said no. Parliament said speak or go to jail. Suddenly the Murdochs have decided they will be able to speak to Parliament. Brooks too will be there answering questions.

Nick Clegg accidently called News Corp "News Corpse". I think we should start using that.

The Facebook/tweet campaign in Britain to boycott all things Murdoch is doing some damage to News Corpse. We should be doing the same thing here.

The FBI is investigating here. More members of Congress have called for investigations. In Britain only the far left has been left out of Murdoch's web. They were the target so no collusion has been found. It might end up being the same here.

In the US there is a line up of people now saying that there will be no investigation into things. BUT, my feeling is that these are early reporters for Murdoch trying to get things to quiet down.

Australia continues to look into News Corp. Murdoch owns (150?) papers in Australia. I can't imagine he hasn't been doing the same thing there that he did in England.

Rebekah Brooks: where it all went wrong --good read-- http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/15/rebekah-brooks-news-international

Phone Hacking: Rupert Murdoch's daughter in 'furious' attack on Rebekah Brooks @ the Daily Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/phone-hacking/8639163/Phone-Hacking-Rupert-Murdochs-daughter-in-furious-attack-on-Rebekah-Brooks.html

Rebekah Brooks's departure puts Les Hinton in the spotlight http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/15/rebekah-brooks-resignation-les-hinton-news-corps

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/15/phone-hacking-met-police-guardian This is a great article. Scotland Yard hired a Murdoch Minion (Who was arrested yesterday) as a secret adviser. His advice, apparently, was to pressure the Guardian to stop running stories about phone hacking. Yes, the police were trying to kill the story with the help of Murdoch's minions.

Prime Minister of England admits that he had Murdoch Editor and disgraced Communications head for PM over for a sleepover at the Prime Minster's summer house- AFTER he left in disgrace. Brooks also visited. http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2011/jul/15/cameron-meetings-media-list-guests-chequers

A great collection of all the times News Corp and the police (who were investigating News Corp) went out and ate dinner together. Yes, as the police were investigating phone hacking, Rupert Murdoch's minions were taking the same police out for dinner, drinks, etc. DOZENS of times. These are the same officers who covered up the depth of the phone hacking scandal. One of them even retired after finding News Corp was clean now and was then hired for a lucrative position writing a column for...yes, one of Murdoch's papers.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2011/jul/13/john-yates-meeting-news-international

The BBC is reporting that Murdoch apologized to the Dowler family. (Murdoch's papers were hacking their dead daughter's phone) Isn't that nice? Murdoch made the family come to meet him in a hotel where the press was waiting, en masse, so that Murdoch could show the world he wasn't a bad guy! See, he had the family come down and get apologized to! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14168633

This is a video of a radio tower burning and collapsing. It has nothing to do with any of the phone hacking but it was pretty cool to watch and, I figured, I might as well end things with some fireworks! Have a great day!! And, remember, even if it isn't a very good weekend, it is better than Rupert Murdoch's. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-14168281

1. Thanks again for the great compilation of news on the failing Murdoch Empire.

:applause:

I couldn't be happier to hear about the FBI investigation, too, even though the stautue of limitations on wiretapping charges may be up. There are other laws NI has broken if the investigation pans out.

But now that I see that the MET was pressuring them to quit, all the more kudos to them!

18. Scotland Yard has lost its integrity in the public eye, that's for sure.
The Guardian has balls of steel compared to those idiots.

23. I hope you're right. As long as Cameron is PM, I have my doubts any real change will occur.
Edited on Fri Jul-15-11 04:17 PM by ClarkUSA
He and the Tories have made a Devil's pact with Murdoch (Cameron saw Brooks TWICE on Christmas, his second guest at Downing Street was Rupert Murdoch, AND he paid for Coulson to stay at Checquers two months after Coulson left in disgrace). I suspect that his contrition act and theirs are being orchestrated for maximum effect on the public.

All the recent Lib Dem voters aka. disillusioned Labour voters will abandon Clegg to vote for Labour this time. Ditto for the student set who were betrayed by Clegg's breaking his promise via bending over for Cameron's tuition brain fart.

own Congress.
When Rupert and his goons tried to buy out the police who protect the royals now - that's pushing the envelope.

19. I'm hoping we'll see what we are seeing in England. Everyone attacking at once
and overwhelming Murdoch's papers. If one person attacks Murdoch's papers try to destroy them. The politicians in England all know that so they are going at him all at once.

A rarity to see them all working together like this!

34. I think what Congress members wanted from him was support
meaning, he would not attack them if they assured him they would 'behave themselves'. Like maybe Dems would agree to appear on Fox and let themselves be shouted down by his goons who pass for 'jouranilts'. I always wondered why democrats ever appeared on that network. Remember when we all wanted them to boycott Fox so they would be left with only their own party and it show how illegitimate they were?

British MPs apparently all had to pay homage to him or fear being smeared in one of his publications or all of them.

I also remember that after a decade of destroying the Clintons on Fox, being shocked when I read that Murdoch threw a party for Hillary when she was running for the Senate. I wonder what she promised him in return for agreeing to show his support for her? I've read recently that Bill went to him and asked him to do that.

So, if Hillary felt she needed to grovel to a man who was out to destroy her husband's presidency, it looks like he had enormous influence over our elected officials.

5. Bloggerheads
This guy seems to be slighty ahead of the curve in putting Rupert's murky newspapers under the spotlight:

http://www.bloggerheads.com/

In recent days he seems particularly interested in US citizens that may have been hacked by the NOTW, and how that might help widen the investigation outside the remit of UK authorities..
