Nike faces new worker abuse claims
Workers making Converse sneakers in Indonesia say supervisors throw shoes at them, slap them in the face and call them dogs and pigs. Nike, the brand's owner, acknowledges that such abuse has occurred among the contractors that make its hip high-tops but says there was little it could do to stop it.

2. By "little" they mean

"Little that wouldn't cost them some money, and aren't our shoes overpriced enough? Oh, we'll monitor our sweatshops, you rabble, but it'll make your King James shoes cost an additional twenty five dollars. You really want that? Huh? Do you?"

This sounds so much like Michael Jordan claiming that he didn't make Air Jordans, so he had no interest/responsibility in finding out what conditions they were manufactured under. He just collects the royalties; you can't expect him to notice the blood on the bills.

7. Republicans are absolutely powerless to stop cheap labor
It would go against their very fiber to bring fair living wages to all.
