Fox is showing pictures of 4 or 5 Union Workers(Detroit) on |
|
their break USING DRUGS. Do these guys not realize they give Unions a bad name when they give Fox the opportunity to have a story like this. (Cavuto Hour with Substitute Host.)

2. A few bad apples in every barrel. They need to be fired!! |
|
Or perhaps they will have a chance at rehab. The least is, if the tape is correct, and you really can't trust anything that appears on FOX, then they should be prosecuted.

So what?
There are unemployed drug users, retiree drug users, part-time drug users.
I bet Covuto does a few lines before he goes live. How else do you explain his hairdo?

Wall Street had better drugs, more drugs, and more expensive drugs.

sneak out for a toke, snort a line of meth, or knock back a little booze when they're on their breaks? Probably more than are in unions, I assure you.

9. So where is their "fair and balanced" in reporting on Murdoch? |
|
My husband watches Faux for hours and I haven't seen one single bleep about THEIR dirty dealings. They have an agenda. Show unions in the worst possible light. My Republican watching husband KNOWS that I am a Union member, don't do drugs, and bust my butt taking care of the kids.
Or maybe Faux watchers don't have family members who are union? Of course not.

|
(in this case, the unions). Of course they will not comment on Murdoch but when the plug is pulled on them (would love it if it happened)they might not have to comment as they are shut down.

19. That is ridiculous. Most union workers are not tested once employed. |
|
Can you find some union workers that are tested at some point? Sure. But most workers are not tested and when they are it is because they were in some sort of accident.

I understand some workers - union and non-union - can have random tests. But union workers as a group are not all drug tested.

|
Not all face random drug tests, no. But to say "most aren't" isn't quite right either, I'd guess. Many in the building trades can face it, depending on the contractor.

I know many Longshoremen and Teamsters... tested, and spot tested... especially those operating cranes, etc.
There may be "some" who are not, but I seriously doubt your claim of "most."

29. Well... aren't you special! |
|
I was married to a Teamster, have a son in a chemical union, and a brother in law who is a Longshoreman. Three unions... all test at least randomly. Wait, four... I just heard from a coworker that her husband is in an electrical union and he is tested. I know the unions that run our local nuke plants here in So Cal also test pre-hire, and random thereafter.
Some unions who never tested are grandfathering some... but testing all new hires.
Look around The Google... across the nation there are unions noting that they test for drugs upon hire and randomly thereafter.

The poster I was replying to implied all union members are tested all of the time therefore the OP must be made up. That is nonsense. If you want to draw on anecdotal evidence to frame your world view go ahead.

I just can't imagine a working stiff allowing themselves to be photographed doing something that would cost their job.

26. This happens to some degree in any factory or production job. |
|
It makes no difference whether or not they are a union shop. Some places are worse than others, but it's not the unions fault. I also noticed those "reporter" fuckwits Weren't harassing white collar people having $350 a bottle wine with their lunch. This is just a hack attack against labor by the rethug mouthpiece faux news. Go to any bar or restaurant in any business district, and see what some people have to drink with/for lunch. Fucking hacks.
