Social Security is a great stimulus for our economy...
It does not cost us anything. It adds to our economy.

The majority of SS recipients spend their entire benefits on necessities. They don't save it and they don't put it into the market.

Next to food stamps, it is probably one of the best stimulus that the government can use to keep our economy growing. If SS is cut, it will hurt our economy, not help it.

When the old person on SS buys a loaf of bread, they add several dollars value to the entire economy. They help pay the farmer that grew the wheat. They help pay the person that built the reaper that helped to harvest the wheat. They helped pay the trucker that hauled it to market. They helped pay the person that made the package for the bread. They helped pay the dockworker that loaded it on and off the trucks. They helped to pay the stockboy that put it on the shelves in your supermarket. They helped pay the cashier when the old person took the loaf of bread out of the store. That one dollar of SS is of great value to our economy. It does not subtract from our economy - it adds to it.

5. I think it could be logically argued that...
SS creates jobs or keeps jobs from being lost.

6. Yet another item to add to the list...
That points to the main thrust of the GOP agenda being the demise of the US monetary system.

They can't just decide to NOT give everyone BACK the money they were supposed to be holding for us. Talk about a flash crowd! A flash riot... angry mob with torches~!

8. exactly... we are the consumers
Edited on Fri Jul-15-11 06:17 PM by fascisthunter
this isn't about the economy for the pukes. This is taking absolute control of our country, just as the communists did in Russia, the Nazis did in Germany, the fascists did in Italy, etc. THEY are ALL THE SAME whack jobs who need to control and abuse people to feel superior. Any potential for COMPETITION is snuffed out. It's why so many pukes want deregulation and monopolization. Sure there are republican voters who do not, but the politicians in the GOP all want total control for their corporate/wealthy constituents.

9. But unlike veterans and other pensioners....
Social Security has been fully paid for by the working people of this country. Social Security did not have to be borrowed from the Chinese. Big difference and why Social Security should be first in line to get "their" money, not the Chinese, whenever they take a notion to make such drastic cuts in people's lives...

10. exactly... we didn't cause this economic problem...
corrupt politicians and their wealthy friends did. This is why there should be NO SHARED SACRIFICE. In fact I blame the players who worked the system to the point where they broke everything and now want us to pay for it.

THEY OWE US OUR MONEY!!!!!! And we should take it from them if they want to play these fucking games. It's obvious we are being lied to and manipulated so we are divided. The only ones benefiting are rich and wealthy folks.
