I realize this probably is too hard for people who see themselves as Democratic Keyboard Kommandoes fighting for truth and justice on the internet, but maybe with a little effort you all can figure out a way to just stop fucking paying attention and put your time, effort, and energy to better use.

No, she's not 100% right 100% of the time. Neither are the people that many on this site spend their time slavishly defending against even the most insignificant of written slights.

But the fact is that she's raised a lot of good points, and exposed a fair amount of hypocricy. I view her as nothing more than an irritating sideshow, basically an irrelevant sack of shit. The Nader voting set loves her, but we have seen what that group can fuck up. What Hamsher will do is marginalize the very people that she claim to represent and be a member of. I personally watched one progressive Governor loose the votes of the Left and still trounce his republican opponent, because serious democrats stayed with him and independents voted more for him than they did his opponent. The governor's situation caused me to come to the conclusion that when a politician that is trying to move a state or nation forward to a brighter future needs votes, it is better not to depend on progressives to come out of their holier than thou clouds, understand the urgency and vote accordingly. Better to depend on democratic leaning independents to accomplish that last condition.

It's difficult to give one person credit for a big goal like getting rid of Sen. Joe Lieberman, but Jane Hamsher certainly did a lot to achieve that. It turned out that enough voters in Connecticut were personally loyal to Lieberman and did not vcte for the Democrat in the race. Too bad. That race also exposed Barbara Boxer as a weak Democrat because she stumped for Lieberman.

That you claim it's a failure on Jane Hamsher's part that there aren't now more progressives in congress or people in the populace calling themselves progressives.

If the president is a Progressive, and people see him advocating progressive ideals and policies, and if those policies were successful then it would seem to me that would be much more responsible for both of those things gaining prominence in congress and in the populace than Jane Hamsher could ever be.

So if you consider Obama a progressive, and you consider what he's accomplished progressive policies and goals then he has failed as our leader.

But again if you don't consider the President a progressive and don't consider what he has accomplished to be progressive goals then you and I agree. But if you do claim that he is a progressive and has achieved progressive goals then it's a bigger failure for him that people aren't lining up behind it than it is some second tier blogger.
