If Elizabeth Warren weren't nominated to fhe CFPB post, who would you trust with the job?
And do you actually trust the admin. to appoint anyone who'd challenge what the corporations want or do anything to actually protect consumers, given the record so far?

1. I would trust anyone with a track record...
...of advocating on behalf of people or the consumers over the corporations or special interests. In whatever way their previous jobs gave them the power to do so.

In other words, to your second question...no I don't trust the admin would appoint anyone who fits that description.

2. There are three names that are rumored. If somebody has info, that would be nice to post rather than
ranting about a nomination that was never going to happen (and where nobody knows whether the person wanted it in the first place).

Raj Date
Jennifer Granholm
Richard Cordray, the former Ohio attorney general who is heading up the CFPB’s enforcement arm

Any info concerning Raj Date and Cordray and whether they are suitable candidate?

5. Here's some on Date
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-06-08/obama-eyes-ex-banker-for-consumer-chief.html

Date, 40, earned an engineering degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a law degree from Harvard University. He was senior vice president for corporate strategy and development at Capital One and a managing director in the financial institutions group at Deutsche Bank. During the debate over Dodd-Frank, Date headed the Cambridge Winter Center for Financial Institutions Policy, a research group he founded.

-snip-

When she appointed Date to the unit that will draft rules for credit cards, mortgages, student loans and payday lenders, Warren said that he and his team would “bring a wealth of experience in the financial services industry, government, non- profits, community banking and academia that will help us build a world-class” research and regulations unit.

In a recent interview with Bloomberg News, Date, who joined Capital One in 2001, recalled his tenure there during the housing bubble. He said he told his colleagues that schemes to make quick money off customers would have an impact on the bank’s reputation and balance sheet.

7. Deustche Bank? Capital One? that's a BIG Hell No!
Look at the fucking tools on the so called "economic team" now. You cannot solve the problems of criminal banksters by hiring criminal banksters.

That's like hiring a Monsanto shill to run the Dept of Agric......

....oh never mind :evilfrown:

10. I doubt he would do it.
But I certainly would hope that who ever gets the job listens to Thom Hartmann and/or reads his books.

12. I'll second that nomination!
And further stipulate that she does NOT have to answer to Geithner or Bernanke!

17. I think a banker with WTO experience would be perfect. Or maybe someone who has
really killed on Wall Street in other areas. We need that expertise.
