Former Rhode Island Congressman Patrick Kennedy Finally Gets Married

Patrick Kennedy is officially off the market.

The longtime bachelor, former Rhode Island congressman and youngest son of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, tied the knot at the family compound in Hyannis Port, Mass., on Friday.

Kennedy, 44, married Amy Petitgout, a school teacher and mother of one from New Jersey, in a private ceremony officiated by Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. The bride wore a sleeveless fitted gown with pearls, and the groom wore white pants, a navy blazer and a blue striped tie. Approximately 200 guests attended the outdoor ceremony.

Declaring it a “beautiful day,” Kennedy embarked on an afternoon sail with family hours before the ceremony. He told reporters, “I feel like my dad’s kind of orchestrating everything from above. And he’s doing a great job so far.”
