Fla Gov Rick Scott lived in public housing as a child. Now he just can't have any feelings for the
underserved

Rick Scott's dirtiest deeds

"Born in Illinois, Scott , 58, was raised by a truck-driver dad and a mom who worked odd jobs. For about three years beginning when he was a toddler, his family lived in public housing — a humble beginning Scott emphasized in his campaign. By the time Scott was 10, his family had moved to a three-bedroom suburban house in Kansas City, Missouri, where he attended high school and college.

1. i know people like that. they LOVE glen beck and faux news. when my husband
told them they were putting low income housing down the road they freaked. They weren't of course. it was a joke. But these folks had lived in the low income housing for several years before they bought their house. And then when they bought their house they got a loan through something that they had to take some class or something. Was it HUD? not sure.

My sister says they never asked anyone for help and have always made their way on their own. And that is fine. They did.... with the help of the low income housing..... and I helped with watching the kids for them when she was working. She did pay me, but it saved her. But that is family. I am just trying to make the point that no one does it on their own. we all need help.

She gets mad that the state pays for the other kids in the daycare while she has to pay for it herself. And then she has to send in baby wipes and other stuff too. I'd say take that up with the daycare. They are the ones fleecing and you are accepting that fleecing. But she gets mad that as a taxpayer she has to pay for daycare and these other folks get help with it.

And then she gets mad about having to send in kleenex and crayons to school or whatever it is in the same breath as they get mad about school taxes. The same district that voted down the school budget and then went all apeshit about the music program getting changed because the music teacher was retiring (which they had known about) and their big idea to replace her was to have group lessons instead of individual ones. They want the services without having to pay for it. And then they blame everyone else of wanting something for nothing.

I am sorry if I seem to be taking over your diary. I am just fed up with people like this who benefit from the system and then pretend they don't and don't pay back into it when they get the chance. They whine about having to help others. I don't really blame my sister and her husband as much. They aren't any wealthier than I am. They make more because they both work, but they pay for daycare and work their butts off. And they sure do pay out a lot. So they see not much benefit for all their work.

It is the ones like Rick Scott that piss me off. They benefit from this system. And yet they don't see why they should be paying back into it. Why they should be paying taxes. Why the help should be there for anyone else. The rest of us should just live in squalor and beg for scraps. The only thing keeping them at the top, though and the masses from revolting is the safety net. Once that is gone, I do believe that will be it. People can say all they want the shiny objects will keep them busy. But I don't think so. Because no one will be able to afford to feed their families. And it is that desperation that leads people to have nothing to lose. But it is the middle class that tends to cause revolutions.
