8. Amazing and its been a critical hunt in my town to find clean water.... |
|
we tap NY city's water but from time to time its quality means we have to go elsewhere....mainly fish pond water. Our old artesian wells have been polluted with chemicals from a now super fund clean up site. The town has been drilling here and there searching for water. They renovated an old well for backup and just recently it was announced that a well drilled on shore near the Hudson River will yield many millions of gallons of water...they hit an aquifer well deep below the clay river bottom. Reposts are it will need minimum treatment. Without this act would have costs unbearable to its taxpayers. We would not be able to sue in federal court the polluters. If I understand the preliminary reports the town hit liquid gold. This source could supply the entire county of about 450k. We use 4.5 million gallons daily which we treat at our own facility. Locally we have been on the hunt for a good clean source for more than 50yrs. We have creek water but some of it is too expensive to treat.
