Yes, I am a Deaniac. And have spoken with the Governor and his people. He won't even get near the idea. I respect his stance and know he will do what is right. I also know how he feels about Russ. I know privately he would LOVE to see Russ run, or even the draft russ campaign start dominating the topic of a challenger.
Russ is our best bet. Recently, I signed up to help. We need to start doing something rather than just keep taking the temperature and arm-chairing.

We need Democrats to come home.
And we need a Democrat in the White House.

And I supposed I thought if I had him on the list, people would argue that his Senate defeat disqualified him.

Maybe I can still add it, though.

37. He is my first choice for Wisconsin Senator, Governor,
and President, or anything else that he wants to run for. We love him. :loveya:

He would have no problem getting a populist following but I think he is a loyal Democrat and would not want to do something that might split the party up and help a Repulican get back in the White House. He has said he won't run against Obama and I don't see how that would change, and we do have suspicions that he's going to run for governor and clean up Wisconsin after we get rid of Walker.

I can see Feingold being really really annoyed if Obama screwed with Social Security, but not enough to run against him for President.

51. Me too. I have never ever felt this way about a Democratic president.
I think some of it is because I have more information about Obama than about previous presidents.

All politicians need to understand that the voters are watching their every policy stance. Obama cannot get by with the underhanded stuff that Clinton could do with impunity.

11. You had plenty of room in the poll, but no choice for no challenger.
Why is that? It would have been simple to do or are you just not interested.

I'm not entirely happy with Obama but I think it would be stupid to primary him based upon the Republicans' desire to self destruct, plus I don't think that any Democrat is foolish enough to pour their time and life at considerable expense into tilting at that windmill.

24. I left out "no challenger" because, in a poll about who should be the challenger
it seemed superfluous and out-of-place. You have the right to believe that not challenging makes sense if that's how you feel.

Maybe if we actually had a congress that would pass some progressive legislation for our president to sign, so many people wouldn't be acting like the president rules by decree.

Still, it seems to me his logical next step would be to try to get into the next vacant U.S. Senate seat from Oregon, or possibly challenge Ron Wyden(if Wyden keeps being a right-winger on the healthcare issue).

DeFazio would also make sense as an Obama running mate if the prez did the sensible thing and cut Biden loose. That guy's been useless for the whole term. Every time Biden speaks, he reminds you of why he never had any chance of winning the nomination.

But that also might make him an unexpectedly strong challenger, or a less-threatening choice as a 2012 running mate designed to reach out to progressives.

72. Easy: russforpres.com
Russ Feingold is the only and best choice we have. According to his people in Madison, he will not enter the Senate OR Gov. race. The Russ Feingold for President 2012 draft campaign has already gathered momentum in WI, MA and ME (and that's just what I know about). In my mind, this is great and it is a no-lose situation. I have already submitted my name to volunteer.
