The Avalanche of Anti-American Tea Party Legislation Since 2010
The Avalanche of Anti-American Tea Party Legislation Since 2010
July 14, 2011
By Hrafnkell Haraldsson

On March 14 we first published a list of thirty pieces of Republican legislation “that Republicans are using to destroy America.” That list was updated on March 17 with several new items and categories, and again on June 11 and now we present a completely updated list, the most important addition to which is a section on Tentherism, “The War on the Federal Government.”

It has become impossible, due to the sheer volume of nihilistic Republican and Tea Party legislation, to keep this list to a reasonable length or to limit either categories or items. Wherever possible, links have been provided to the actual legislation under discussion. It has become difficult, again due to the volume of this legislation, to update the status of these various bills and reader feedback in this regard is appreciated. Every attempt will be made to keep the list current and accurate.
Again, it is important to note up front that long as this list is, it is not a complete list of questionable Republican/Tea Party legislation.

The War on Women’s Reproductive Rights

There is no doubt that the GOP’s first goal is to deprive women of their reproductive rights. It’s so important that we find Mike Huckabee promising Christian conservatives that his number one priority if he runs for president will be abortion. Alternet lists the 10 worst states in which to be a woman.

MUCH more (17 categories, with states cited) at:

- Putting this all in one place makes it even more dramatic -

2. Totally shameless kick
This is too good to go to waste and not share with others. I found out about some horrible legislation from my own state that I had missed.

3. Mike Pence's argument is particularly stupid, even for an Indiana Republican.
we shouldn't use tax money for Planned Parenthood, because pro-life people object to it? So Mike, does that mean I don't have to may taxes to support the military, because I disagree with their killing?

4. The GOP/T-Partiers are bringing this country down so fast
They'll also be making the U.S. responsible, in large part, for bringing down the world. They have no concept that this is one organic world, not a collection of individuals who have nothing to do with one another.

May they experience either Karma or Hell - or some combination thereof - as a result of their total selfishness and greed.

5. Sometimes I think they say idiotic things like that without thinking
of how illogical it sounds - as long as it sounds critical, negative, and contrary. If my child had that kind of attitude when talking about other people's ideas, I would be so ashamed and feel like a failure as a parent. I wish someone would mirror them with the opposite argument to show them how ridiculous they sound sometimes. It would be funny if their actions weren't so tragically consequential.

Oh, I forgot - most of them have sold their souls and, obviously, have no conscience.

6. Reading over that list, no wonder I feel exhausted.
The Tea Party has set 1,000 brush fires and not all of them can be extinguished.

7. This despite the contention that "there's no difference between the parties".
;)

There should be more difference between the parties - a definite YES. There's currently no difference between them - an equally definite NO.
