that he'll be dead in 30 years so fuck the rest of the planet.

I wonder when he will truly "come out."

6. That is myTheory of the Conservation of Intelligence
Much like energy, there is a finite quantity of intelligence in the universe. With an expanding population, do the math, if you can.

Alternatively, it's possible that intelligence cannot overcome gravity and thus we are stuck in Stupidville. If NASA were able to establish a base on the moon, begin generating intelligence, and send it back to the Earth, then maybe, there would be hope.

8. And why is it that I can tell you plenty about Casey anthony even though i've never
watched it deliberately?

because there's wall to wall coverage.

that is because the media has CHOSEN to do that kind of coverage, not because the populace is demanding it.

if you believe that the media works the way it does because of popular demand, i have a bridge. i really hate this "everyone except me is so stupid & uninformed" thing.

I can, y'know, multitask. <\b>

Both this debt ceiling bullshit AND the trial of a woman who killed her baby (at the LEAST found it dead, bagged it and dumped it in a swamp with other trash), who didn't report it for 31 days, lied her teeth out, then got acquitted are worthy of discussion.<\b>

What are you all saying? That the murder and dumping of a baby isn't newsworthy?
That it's not worth our discussion?
That the Rule of Law is bullshit?

--well, it seems to be so coming from the White House: they don't give a damn regarding the Rule of Law and bringing Dubya, Cheney, et.al. to justice...

Both subjects are travesties. So sorry so many of the naysayers don't have the cerebral acumen and wherewithal to be able to focus on more than one subject at a time.

:eyes:

Edit: The < & > are NOT typeset that way in my text. They are typed < b > and closing bold < /b > (without the spaces).

Is this a new bug?

these idiots every day, too. Yes, the media chooses to have wall to wall coverage of stories like this, I think deliberately, to distract people from what the ruling classes are doing to them.

But a lot of the blame falls on the "fucking idiots" themselves. Many CHOOSE to pay attention only to stories like this and the latest trends that they are told are popular. For example, one woman I work with can tell in detail the entire history of who did what on American Idol and Survivor, but has no idea who either of her US Senators are, who her congressman is, doesn't even know what the State Senate or State House of Representatives is, and still thinks Bob Taft is Governor of Ohio. (He lost re-election in 2006). And the REALLY scary part is that we both work for a government agency!

That's just willful ignorance, IMO. And there's a LOT of it out there.

18. If the math expertise put into sports statistics by a sizeable part of the electorate
went into fiscal knowledge, most Republican candidates wouldn't stand a chance of getting elected. The voters would be telling each other they are full of shit.

20. Maybe its because...
...politics is generally an uninteresting topic to most people. It just evolves into the same three concepts:

1) This country is fucked up...
2) The solutions seem pretty cut and dried...
3) Politicians won't implement the policy because there are influential people who benefit from things being fucked up...

Fuck it, back to the baseball stats.
