Humpback Whale Puts On Show For Men Who Saved Her

Great video here of a small group rescuing a young humpback whale that was caught in a fishing net. They got an awesome show in return.

Whales truly are amazing creatures.

When Michael Fishbach set out for his day of boating around the beautiful waters of the Sea of Cortez, he probably didn't think that it would be the day he and his friends would become wildlife heroes. As luck would have it, that's exactly what happened.

The group came upon a stranded humpback whale who was so tangled in a mesh of nylon netting that she was beginning to drown, and as Fishbach noted in this video, was possibly an hour from death. The crew worked tirelessly for more than an hour to free the stranded whale and, to their elation, eventually succeeded. Then, magic happened.

2. We had a beached whale

in the bay near my house several years ago. It was a young male who was mourning the loss of his mother. A team from British Columbia rushed down to get him out. The bay is shallow and he was truly beached. They stayed with him all night, pouring water over him until the tide was high enough to attempt a rescue. It was successful.
The team from BC was amazing.
There really are good people.
