Anyone else have any stressful ATT stories? Have they gone downhill

over the past two years, or is it my imagination?

Wife got a phone call about 7 weeks ago; caller stated that they were calling from ATT, and that they needed to let us know they were changing long distance carriers. Asked "is this going to affect our bill in any way?" The answer was no, and basically she said, "whatever."

Found out it was a different company calling...NOT ATT. Called ATT to report the scam: the response? They knew. And that was exactly what they contracted with this company to do.

She called the other company...and told them to cancel immediately...also asked ATT to block it. No problem...she has the cancellation number, etc...

Opened the bill today: it's 50 bucks more, with that extra going to the "new" company. Of course, no one is available until tomorrow to fix this.
