The Left Coast Sports Babe hits a triple and a home run in a single inniing...
Five ‎ North Korean womens soccer players tested positve for steroids. According to ESPN, the delegation told FIFA the steroids were accidentally taken with traditional Chinese medicines based on musk deer glands to treat players who had been struck by lightning.

And a number of MLB and NFL players said "Damn, why didn't we think of that?"

One of the tenets of the anti-tax movement is that rich people are smarter and more productive about spending money than the government. But for many years one of the richest and biggest spending franchises in baseball has been the Chicago Cubs.

Does the North Korean explanation remind you of the Republican's explanations for things, or is that just me?

1. As a tenure holding member of the "Maybe Next Year" fan club
The statement about the Cubbies is ironic only if WINNING is the product that the wisdom and spending is supposed to buy.

I gave up on that belief before Ron Santo was selling pizzas.

2. So filling seats is adequate, regardless of record? That explains so much.

3. No, it's not even about filling seats...
The important thing is making money. If your only revenue was from ticket sales, filling stadiums would be important. Loyal followers are the key when you are selling a sports entertainment product to broadcasters who make their money via advertising.
The television and radio contracts generate a lot more than pocket change.
