Advice on a solar phone charger?
I'm thinking of getting a solar charger that I can use to charge my Iphone, Garmin GPS, etc. Any recommendations? Thanks.

9. I'm leaning toward that
and adding the power pack for recharging batteries.

2. I want a solar netbook charger
that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I would want to use it with my phone, too. I've been researching for months, and the best I've seen is really expensive and bulky.

It's for an 11.6 netbook - not my 17" gaming notebook LOL.

3. Normally, I'd tell you to shop from the Real Goods catalog. . .

but right now they are in the process of updating their online catalog and discontiniung their paper catalog.

If you can wait, it might be worth the effort, as they've been in the retail solar business since 1975.

In the meantime, you might want to try Recreational Equipment Inc, the outdoor goods store.

10. Get yourself one of these.

I've bought from this company a bunch of times. They're great. It'll take awhile to ship it from China, but the goods are cheap and reliable. It uses a solar panel to charge up the internal battery, which you can then later use to power your phone, or anything else that can run off of 5 volts.
