31. Well, I don't actually mail my ballot. |
|
I'll drop it off directly at the county courthouse if I'm going that direction, or at one of several locked drop boxes around town if I'm not.
So the US mail can't lose it, though I suppose the county auditor's office could. :scared:

secure Internet voting. Nobody can convince me that it's any less 'safe' than voting by mail.

22. It's pointless to vote anyways because Republicans are omnipotent, able to steal elections at will. |
|
They allow us to win occasionally just to toy with us. Resistance is futile.
At least that is what some here appear to believe.

so you know I vote by mail. I've been voting for over five decades but I have never used a diebold demon and, just like I have never shopped at Wal Mart, I intend to keep it that way. :hippie:
Democrats Abroad held the first fully International vote by internet during the Primary in 2008. Countries that have a lot of expats (like Thailand) held on site Primaries, but the online option was open worldwide. We had two polling stations here in Chiang Mai. I assisted at the one held inside the moat of the old city, which is where I live. Getting Ballots have been made a lot easier because of internet access. Even in states with bizarre restrictions.
For the next election cycle a critical focus will have to be done at the grass roots level to contact voters and assist in getting the proper ID in all those states that have passed new draconian laws. Still, absentee is the way to go. I grew up in Oregon with lots of family still there, and the vote-by-mail seems to be working well. :hi:

30. Been voting permanent absentee since 1992. |
|
Now the county is all mail elections anyway, so no lines at a polling place for me.
Of course I am a little skeptical of the optical scanning & computer tabulation, but at least there's a paper ballot, should there ever be a need to question it.
