Can the President win the next election if he does't change his present strategy?
Can he appeal to the common sense of the American people? Can he continue to compromise with Republicans and expect the support of many progressives? Can he agree to cuts in SS and Medicare and expect to win the vote of the elderly?

What does he need to change in order to win? Or does he need to change anything at all?

Can he stomp any Republican now running, in a heads up battle?

Or are some of us simply whistling past the graveyard?

15. I sure hope he will become more of a real Democrat, but even if he doesn't,
he'll still get my vote. If he wins, at least he'll be delaying a Neocon
take-over of our nation for 4 more years. And during those 4 years Dems.
will have the opportunity to learn to correct our errors, change our ways,
and choose a more left-leaning Democratic presidential nominee for 2016.
This will mean a lot of inside work, and a lot of changes among our congress
people.

A Neocon take-over of the presidency in Nov. 2012 would probably spell the
death of democracy in our nation. GW Bush tried to destroy our Constitution,
but didn't succeed. This time the Neocons will continue to trash our
Constitution where Bush left off.

Just look at how the Neocon and Tea Party governors of states like WI, MN,
OH, NJ, FL, etc. are already doing away with their people's rights. Can you
imagine what will be happening in the whole country if another Neocon
president should take over?

God forbid!!

2. Too many variables this far out
Does the economy get better, worse or stay the same?
Does the unemployment get better, worse or stay the same?
Who do the Republicans run?
Does the Fast & Furious scandal blow up sooner or later?
Does an asteroid hit the Earth and kill us all and make the 2012 elections a moot point?

3. Well...
... ask the folks who don't give a shit about the R or D behind the name. With the country's two politically aware factions ready to go to war with each other (literally), none of them are going to hop sides. It's the people who don't vote for letters who will decide, and no one will really know where they will fell until around midnight on the Tuesday November 6th 2012.

5. Do you mean he needs to run a little more left and populist?
Probably. And he can win that way.

6. He's good looking & charismatic.
That's all America needs.

He doesn't have to be good at the job.

In particular, Obama.

"He doesn't have to be good at the job.

By the standards of most Presidents, he's doing an above average job.

7. The Republicans don't have a viable candidate, so yes.
I think the intelligent Republicans have decided to just let the dumbfucks battle it out for 2012 so they can dispense with them and plan for 2016 when the field will be more open. If Biden runs, he won't have the same energy behind him that Obama does. No serious candidate will throw his/her hat into the GOP ring this time around because there is no path to victory.

8. Obama is a shoe in.
The republicans know it too, that's why no serious republican candidate has thrown their hat in the ring.

All serious politicians (Democrats and republicans) are waiting until 2016, leaving only the loonies to go up against Obama.

Obama wins 2012 in a landslide, despite the wailing and gnashing of teeth you'll read here.

10. No because it will not put enough people to work.
The average American may not understand economics or they may believe in today's political lies, but what determines how they will vote is their household condition.

17. Can the President win the next election if the economy is still in the crapper & unemployment high?
If Republicans can find a candidate that is at least reasonably acceptable to all but Democrats (none of whom are likely to vote for a Republican) then Obama will be in trouble if the economy is still bad or if there is a double dip in the recession.
