While Americans were watching “reality TV,” shopping, thumb gaming, checking their facebook status, watching pron and tweeting.
When Americans began to trust the government with their money to fight invisible enemies, or more succinctly, a tactic.
When Americans allowed fascism to creep in via The Patriot Act, Homeland Security and the TSA.
When Big Pharma was allowed to advertise on TV.
When warfare was considered more beneficial than welfare.
When Social Security was considered an entitlement.
How can we make America reappear?

1. We have to get desperate enough to strike. |

Refusing to work is the only thing that will get the attention of the plutocracy and make them realize that yes, they are vulnerable, just like us, and that we hold the keys to that vulnerability.
People who take to the streets can be attacked by cops and the military. People who sit home and sit on their hands are a completely decentralized threat.
We're not anywhere near that yet.

2. When Voters Lost Their Clout To The Corporate Vote |

When vouchers became the new catch phrase for public money going into private pockets..When the sick, elderly, disabled, homeless, unemployed became a liability instead of a group we need to help..when a minority of those with big money and little heart started running this country..when a minority feels every has to follow in step to think, pray and live like they do.

and yes, thye additions are spot on as well...
America is not coming back, that's the issue...at least not as we have ever known it.
we are looking down the barrel of a new 'dark age' where the real, on the ground, way to get by wil be found in the neighborhood, the small city, the community and the sustainability factor.
I finally got serious about my gardening this year, dug in and got the soil testing kit and decided to prep and get real about a patch of land that may have to sustain my family for a while. Also stocking up on my herbal and homeopathic medicines just to have something as a backup. If I lose medicare and food-stamps i hope I can help myself along until my personal community shows up in force...
but bringing it back? I think it's not going to look the same no matter how we take action. It's NOT too big to fail... in fact, I think capitalism and democracy are ideals that work really well on a normal scale, but in the face of our current population size and technology being used against us as much as 'for' us... it's just not working.
