Someone explain this to my logically - re:Faux News |
|
Why wouldn't the Dems in Congress storm both Houses and demand a complete domestic investigation of Murdoch, Ailes and Faux. Forget the Debt Ceiling, the Repubs have no choice but to raise it. When they bring up the point that Dems are losing focus kick them in the nuts with "the Ryan plan would have added 9 trillion in debt and you all supported it, shut the hell up and raise the ceiling."
Screw this, let it all play out talk, go on the offensive and open up everything Faux has ever reported to be viewed through the prism of illegal wire tapping. If I recall they had Acorn shut down in a matter of a week with trumped up charges.

But investigations have a way of petering out. (see Valerie Plame)
Why not go on the extreme offensive and take it to Fox and by default the Republicans.
Everything is in place, a Repub Representative questioning them, an ally going after them.
I see no logical reason not to go for the jugular. It seems to be a no lose proposition.

7. The FBI's investigation is 'domestic' |
|
I think that the FBI investigating News Corp is a better route to go right now, until something concrete is uncovered - then Congress would look like they are getting involved with good cause.
You know if the DEMS in Congress right now were to look like they are going after a republican news station - all hell will break out in the media.

10. It is premature because there is no reason to believe, no evidence |
|
that suggests that Fox wiretapped in the US beyond the accusation by one movie star maybe named Jude Law.

In the court of public opinion Murdoch is in an extremely difficut position. Why not turn up the heat, question everything that has every been written or spoken by anyone employed by Murdoch. We can call it the revenge of Dan Rather.

I am trying to figure out the logic of the Democrats. They should be all over this, kicking the enemy when he is down.

9. One of the few explanations for that could be that there are a few tapes |
|
of past phone hacks in their drawers somewhere and they don't want them to get 'out' of their drawers.
Of course, this is just me speculating.

12. We had a similar disagreement over th WI Supreme Court recount |
|
And it turns out Kloppenburg lost. Prosser WINS! Now rather than letting things play out why the hell wouldn't Dems get offensive? To play by the rules? That works when the other side has any sense of common decency. Are you really going to argue Repubs have any sense of common decency? Thus this is why we lose. They are down, kick them in the fucking nuts!
I am tired of being morally correct. When the other side cheats you slam them when they get caught.

I never argued that Repubs have any sense of common decency.
Perhaps you should stick to 'what folks actually say' instead of making up stuff.
And you replied to my comment that said that Durbin is calling for a CONGRESSIONAL investigation - did you read that?

15. I am talking about your suggestions to be patient about the WI recount |
|
And your current suggestion to remain patient while the CONGRESSIONAL investigations take place.
My argument is that being patient is fools gold. When the opportunity presents itself you need to strike.
Your condescendeding comment is noted, and when tied to the WI election comments to "stay the course" is reason for pause.
