As we follow the dramatically fast manipulation to set up the new legislative districts in WI, we owe a debt of gratitude to STAN MILAM for his informative column in the Janesville Gazette on Saturday, July 18. (I am not allowed to provide link to the column according to Bliss Communications/Gazette policy. SORRY!) He told us! Forewarned should be forearmed!

I myself continue to hope for a MAJOR shift in the partisan control of our State of WI for the sake of healthy public policy for WE THE PEOPLE of WI!

I first cited Stan Milam’s column as the launching pad to discuss redistricting for my WE THE PEOPLE blog post on Saturday, July 18, “’Recall delay really about redistricting’ – Stan Milam.” THANKS, STAN MILAM!

NOW I want to continue that discussion as our WI State Legislature moves ahead with ALL DELIBERATE SPEED to AVOID any need to negotiate the legislative district lines IF WE THE PEOPLE of WI do decide to force such negotiations by shifting control of OUR WI STATE SENATE to the DEMS through the RECALL ELECTIONS of this summer. WHY are the REPUBLICANS moving so deliberately to PREVENT WE THE PEOPLE from having potential DIRECT INFLUENCE on the legislative redistricting? Remember: These lines will hold for the DECADE until after the US Census of 2020! WHY do WE THE PEOPLE of WI want any political group to have that kind of long-term INSURANCE?! I KNOW I DO NOT! What is YOUR perspective?
