MURDOCH: Fire Any - “bed-wetting liberals in particular"
Here's the kind of person Murdoch placed in charge:

News America was led by Paul V. Carlucci, who, according to Forbes, used to show the sales staff the scene in “The Untouchables” in which Al Capone beats a man to death with a baseball bat. Mr. Emmel testified that Mr. Carlucci was clear about the guiding corporate philosophy.

According to Mr. Emmel’s testimony, Mr. Carlucci said that if there were employees uncomfortable with the company’s philosophy — “bed-wetting liberals in particular was the description he used” Mr. Emmel testified — then he could arrange to have those employees “outplaced from the company.”

1. Outplaced:fired = offshored:laid-off
Is this their new euphemism?

News Corp also faces a growing legal problem, after it emerged a group of shareholders had filed a lawsuit in the US against the media group.

Led by Amalgamated Bank, along with several state and union pension funds, the shareholders claim News Corp's board of directors failed to take sufficient action over the phone hacking allegations .

Their lawyers said: "News Corp's behaviour has become an egregious collection of nepotism and corporate governance failures, with a board completely unwilling to provide even the slightest level of adult supervision.

"The result has been a piling on of questionable deals, a waste of corporate resources, a starring role in a blockbuster scandal, and a gigantic public relations disaster."

This is before any serious investigations into Murdochs' US phone hacking adventures.
Before you moan, this IS politics - when a Corp. gets so big it can sway elections, when it owns politicians and possibly judges then it sure as heck is politics!

3. If I recall correctly...
The scene from the "Untouchables" showed Capone killing a "Lieutenant" because he was skimming the profits. It was also a warning to the others.

How Carlucci interpreted this scene to mean "undying devotion to the corporate mission statement" is beyond me...

Perhaps Carlucci should live more in this reality than in the scenes of past Hollywood movies...

5. Read John Dean's "Conservatives Without Conscience."
Dean's book will help you understand the mentality of authoritarians like Murdoch and his lackeys.
