Ruport Biographer Thinks He Won't Do Well In Tomorrow's Hearings

3.15pm: Michael Wolff, Rupert Murdoch's biographer, has given an interview to ITV saying that he thinks Murdoch will perform very badly when he gives evidence to the Commons culture committee tomorrow.

He will handle it very poorly. This is something that Rupert doesn't know how to do, has never done, has resisted doing and frankly can't do. Rupert is – on top of everything else - an incredibly shy man and he is also a very inarticulate man and he is also a man who, I don't think he is going to know what to do with the fact that he will be confronted here. It is very likely he will get angry. He will say things that people should not say in public. I know they are drilling him and rehearsing him over and over and over and over again and they are saying to him 'do not say anything, just answer the questions in as few words as possible'. Whether he absorbs that lesson or not…actually I can't imagine that he will or that he has.

1. It will be great fun to watch the old man squirm. I hope he does lose it!
The evil piece of shit has had a hand in the deaths of thousands.

7. Although I'm an audiovisual Luddite, I believe
that there are devices that will allow you to record things for later viewing.

I could be wrong, though. I may have overheard some teenagers talking about an SF show or something.

17. I stream Current TV and don't know how to tape it. I have to get
teenagers in here every once in a while to teach me things like Roku. It sucks being old sometimes. :)

14. Wasn't it reported that he broke down and cried when he met with
Milly Dowler's family? Maybe if he can drum up another crying spell he'll be seen as contrite and the parliment will go easy on him - ha!

5. 'The secret of Murdoch's strength is his lack of shame'
http://www.slate.com/id/2205748/
The secret of Murdoch's strength is his lack of shame: He doesn't personally care if something he publishes or broadcasts might offend someone, and if it does — like the aborted O.J. Simpson book If I Did It — he's happy to walk away and offend again some other day.

6. This is a sociopath in action.
A person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behavior and a lack of conscience.

Profile of a Sociopath

Glibness and Superficial Charm

Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."

Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

11. I like the typo in your headline, Chimichurri...
I think we should start calling all of Murdoch's employees and henchpersons "Ruporters." I would imagine ol' Rupert is pretty much filled with rue today, too.
