Sarah Palin visits crisis-hit Haiti by Chris McGreal (12-12-10 Guardian article)
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 02:08 PM by bobthedrummer
With everything that's going on I missed this latest bit of propaganda about Sister Sarah's growing experience in foreign affairs, it's sickening on any number of levels and I thought others here might be interested-Bob.

Sarah Palin says residents of refugee camp "are so full of joy" during visit tightly stage-managed by Christian relief group
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/dec/12/sarah-palin-haiti-visit

I'm certainly not against aiding disaster survivors and I'm also a Christian, yet I can't stand these "new" Pharisees, their allmighty dollar and greed for power and control. So Franklin Graham (son of Rev.Billy Graham) is one of Sister Sarah's supporters.

Below is a modern example of hypocrisy that Christ Himself condemned when addressing the Pharisees imho.

Franklin Graham's CEO pay draws experts' criticism by Tom Funk and Ames Alexander (10-7-09 Charlotte Observer article)

What do you think of this Haitian excursion by Palin?

2. A couple of hucksters who have joined forces to fleece each others' flocks.
Thanks for the Charlotte Observer link. I was already pretty cynical about Franklin Graham, but he is skimming far more off the top than I imagined:

"As president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse, he receives two full-time salaries and two retirement packages. Last year his total compensation from the two Christian ministries was $1.2 million.

The size of Graham's total 2008 compensation – $535,000 from Samaritan's Purse and $669,000 from Charlotte-based BGEA – drew questions from non-profit experts interviewed by the Observer. They doubted that one person – even the energetic, globe-trotting Graham – can do two full-time jobs leading organizations that employ hundreds and spend hundreds of millions around the world.

As head of the Boone-based Samaritan's Purse, Graham earned more last year than any other leader of an international relief agency based in the United States. That includes eight with larger budgets, according to data compiled by Guidestar, a group that monitors non-profits."
