Sperm-sniffing police dog snags rapist....
Sperm-sniffing police dog snags rapist
The Local, Sweden's News in English

A 23-year-old man has been charged with rape in Karlskrona, after Rapports Opus, southern Sweden's only police dog specialised in sniffing sperm, caught a whiff of his case.

The charges against the man state that in the beginning of June he threatened and physically forced a woman to perform oral sex on him in a Karlskrona park, reported regional newspaper Sydöstran.

The evidence against him is heavy.

On top of a medical certificate testifying to bodily damage, witnesses who've spoken with both the victim and the accused, as well as a witness who overheard the act, the prosecutor has one more ace up his sleeve in the form of the sperm-sniffing police dog's forensic investigation.

This is a great new technique!

2. OK, they train drug dogs with confiscated drugs. They train EOD dogs with gunpowder, C4, and other
explosives.

Where the hell did they get the material to train this dog? Youngest guy on the force has to do his "training donation?" Toss-aways from the sperm bank?

10. Great Picture!!!
 I have an embarrassing question. Embarrassing to me anyway...but I'll forge ahead here. How could the dog tell it was the perp's sperm? Did he sniff the evidence on the victim first?
One could forgive the victim for a certain WTF reaction to that sort of investigation...

11. Probably in the same way they can tell the difference between other smells.
They smell signatures between people and substances which we can't register.
