OFA operative just told a blatant LIE on the Thom Hartmann show

Apparently Thom was unaware of what OFA was, and he confused it with Democracy for America. He asked the caller if this was Howard Dean's organization.

She said YES.

Considering how this administration has openly crapped all over Dr. Dean and everything he did to save the Democratic party, I find this blatant LIE extremely distasteful :grr:

It IS the job of OFA operatives - especially when making a plea for donations on a radio show - NOT to deliberately misrepresent what the organization stands for, or who founded the organization.

politically, so I find it difficult to believe that any "GENUINE" OFA staffer would be calling Thom Hartmann in the first place. They have radios like the rest of us. I tuned Thom out a couple of months after the inauguration, and never looked back.

Thom indicated he wasn't familiar with OFA and asked the caller if this was the organization founded by Howard Dean. She said "yes", which is a blatant lie.

not aware of who and what the OFA is. I doubt there are many DUers who wouldn't know the difference between OFA and DFA.

I mean no offense if you are a fan. I've never listened to Hartman, although I've read some transcripts of his program over the years.

Still, if a political operative hedges the truth - well, that's what they do. If a political journalist and commentator is unaware of a basic political fact - that makes me sad.
