This is the 3rd week for Al, haven't heard any official word from MSNBC, Tweety never says anything like "Coming up next is Al Sharpton filling in for Cenk Unger"
I'd really like to know what's going on....

What's going on? Chris Matthews pointedly ended today saying (paraphrasing), 'That's it for Hardball today and now here's Cenk Uygur.'

We need to get Cenk back.
Besides, Cenk is much more snarky and witty than Al Sharpton.
I'd rather see Sharpton replace Mrs. Greenspan ... or that Joe guy that is on way too early in the morning where I live.

"BI" is scandal sheet for business/media community. Don't have time to find the link...but apparently a DU'er must have been "WIRED" because they posted on Saturday that CENK was in big trouble.

so they are thinking that Sharpton is the best replacement.
Problem is there were huge amounts of DU'ers who said Sharpton was Right Wing...and threw him under the bus with the rest of us Progressives.
I guess they've "changed their tune" since Cenk was really standing up for those of us that some folks want to "keep under the bus."
I've never had a problem with Sharpton...but I'd like to see BOTH Sharpton and Cenk have a show. Cut back Matthews to one time slot and have them both on... Good Competition! IMHO....

29. I have to disagree with your characterization |
|
I like Cenk sometimes. The difference between Cenk and Sharpton is that Cenk is idealistic most of the time; whereas, Sharpton is more of a realist. I prefer a liberal realist to a liberal idealist. I think its useless to spend an entire show getting angry at Obama because he can't magically change certain things. We all know the way to get change--through the voting booth. Not by shouting and yelling.

Cenk was losing a large portion of Tweety's audience. It could be just the fact that Sharpton's new. But people are already raving about how Sharpton is handling repubs... I never heard anyone rave about Cenk. We'll see. www.tvbythenumbers.com

Sharpton is a huckster and bomb thrower. I agree with his politics, mostly and hope he goes back to community organizing. I find most of his program cringe-worthy as he comes off semi-literate.

Cenk does some good rants. Often loses my attention.
Al is a self promoter who I watched for years before he was a invited to any TV shows. He broke through with Tawana which was a scam and an embarrassment, though he never admitted it.
I'd give him a pass if I could see something he does to add to the debate. Haven't come across that ye.

week that there's something about his voice that drives me up the wall and I HAVE to turn him off. Not the content so much as how he delivers the message.
Is it true Cenk is out? As far as Ratigan, I will be totally upset if they get rid of him. I've ALWAYS like him even though some here have has some very bad things to say about him. I find him to be very intelligent and FAIR!
He's one I do try to watch most of the time. But Rev. Al and his voice grate on me and I just can't listen to him. His delivery, cadence and pitch altogether just turns me off. Sorry. Not about him in particular, but wish Cenk was back. Or someone LIBERAL!
