Poll question: When you are away from DU, what idiotic plan do people tell you "will just fix everything"
...not to say we've never proposed anything idiotic on DU, but between the people I meet, and the comments I read on various news outlets, these are the most common solutions I hear.

13. How did I forget that one.
If one is 40 something, you might remember playing this game they had on the Apple II where you set tax rates and built your kingdom. Basically, the way you won was by doing 3 things:

1) The Government needed to build marketplaces
2) You eliminated income and property tax and jacked sales tax way up
3) You poured a bunch of money into defense so the neighboring kingdom wouldn't invade

I swear that dumb game (the name of which escapes me) and Ayn Rand are responsible for this mess.

Accompanied by "Glen Beck was right!" and a shower of spittle.

5. A lady from southern Ohio told me yesterday
that getting a businessman like Donald Trump in the White House would solve everything. I was beyond speechless.

9. that's how people like FL Gov Rick Scott get elected. The GOP mentality is that government should be
"run like a business", so the CEO is a God-like figure to them.

12. Everyone I know
thinks we are fucked and circling the drain.

And they voted for Obama.

I don't know anyone with a "fix everything" idea.

There is no one plan that will fix everything by itself.

Only one person said that to me. I have heard no one else putting forth their idea(s) as to what they'd like to have done.
