?? about the debt madness |
|
OK, a lot of people are angry at O for putting stuff on the table, as a SS receprient, i am too, however, I need to ask this.
Suppose we do not budge, and the GOp does not budge, august 2 passes. What happens? And how do we stop the default from being blamed on us?, because we know the MSM will blame us mean old Social security check cashers.

1. Historically, debt ceilings have been formalities, increased without demands |
|
Considering its the GOP who tried to use this once formality as a means of blackmail I cant see the Dems (or Obama) getting the blame..... as long as the Democrats get out front with the issue of blame.

It's been raised so many times in the past (I think 16 or 17 times by St. Ronnie). Why is it such a big deal now?? Oh, yes, POLITICS. Just another game the repukes are playing.

2. Didn't McConnell already say that if Obama did it without them, they wouldn't veto it? |

I'm too sleepy from the heat to go look it up, but I think I saw that Friday. Not sure how that would work, but it does sound like a plan B.

5. I believe that what happens is a lot of checks don't go out. |
|
As in SS, government workers, military. Federal contractors. Doctors' Medicare reimbursements.
Foreign creditors will still get paid for awhile. There will probably be blood in the streets of DC and the republicans giving in before we actually default to foreign creditors.
This is what I think. I may not know what I am talking about.
As to who gets blamed? All the politicians will be blamed, I'm sure. Personally, I blame the voters who sent the right wing stupid yahoos to DC in the first place.
