Obama Supporters: You're right - the media is presenting the story in an anti-Obama manner |
|
That is, anti-Obama for the Left like me
Take the Warren Story of the day - this was a job she didn't want, and recruited Richard Cordray for the position
But the way the media describes it, she was forced out and Cordray swooped in to take it...
GAH - you're right

4. Stir that pot, toss in a little hate and discontent, and pray for a boil-over! |
|
It doesn't work with me. Obama wasn't my first pick last time around, but he's what we got, he's doing fine all things considered, a damn sight better than "President McCain and Vice President Palin" would be doing, and I would like him to do another four, thanks anyway. I can't see what carping and griping and whining is going to do to improve the Democratic position at this point in time.
Warren didn't want the job. Why can't people believe that?
If she runs for the Senate seat, the people insisting that she was screwed over will have to go buy new crystal balls, I guess.

18. Why would she want a Senate job? |
|
It's seriously much less effective than an agency head. First she would be a freshman. Second, the Senate is the place legislation goes to die. All it takes is one inbread redstate senator to hold absolutely everything up. Look at Blanche Lincoln or that other asshole Stupak. Then they hold hearings that never accomplish anything. About the only good thing they can do is go on tv or the radio and try and bait the President into doing something progressive and block the looney Tea Party congressional bills like Ryan's Budget Plan if there is any suspicion the President may feel its too mean and not in the spirit to "compromise" to veto it .

Every Senator sees themself as a potential President when they look in the mirror each morning. They're one of a hundred in "the cooling saucer" of the legislature, and they're a cut above the rambunctious House. One gains visibility and stature by getting a juicy committee assignment, being seen on CSPAN and the Sunday talkers, and giving the right interviews.
Name me one Senator that left the Senate poorer than they came in. There surely must be one or two, but it's a very uncommon occurence. It's the place where people go to garner power, prestige, and a six or seven figure bank account.
Scott Brown was a freshman, and everyone kissed his ass. When they need your vote, you can play the game--ask Joe Lieberman about that.
Don't look at this possible direction with YOUR eyes and your desires; look at it from hers. She could do two terms and be set for life (she'd qualify for a retirement, then, too) even if she didn't leverage her status into something big-moneyesque post-political career. Or who knows, she could even use her gravitas and high profile to do something for the Greater Good.

What would Barney Frank know? I mean, just because she told him she didn't want the job doesn't really mean she ever said she didn't want the job, right?

7. No, she wanted it, but knew the reality of the situation. |
|
As Rachel asked her tonight "did you want the job", she explained how the Republicans fought this agency tooth and nail (and are continuing to do so) and that she never would have been able to take the helm because of it. As the agency was more important to her than the job, she went toe to toe with them knowing it would never be hers. She could have ducked her head down and let someone else fight, but that isn't her style.
I posted the video a few hours ago.

10. The Obama supporters made a big deal about how Pres Obama was going to appoint |
|
Warren, a liberal. Kinda like how Pres Obama was going to support a public option and kill the Bush tax cuts. And close Gitmo. Now it's the progressives fault to call him on it.

And I'm not a big fan of his dumping the Public Option right off the bat
However - Warren knew being head of the Consumer dept would be more trouble than it's worth. Even if she was confirmed, they wouldn't have let her do a thing. They, being the Reich Wing Republicans

16. There has never been a let up of the negative comments made by the M$M |
|
about Obama. The M$M paymasters said, 'hate him from day one' he called them on being haters and they just gnashed and howled that much louder to the point of it being too obvious to ignore any longer. The M$M is hard right from center...maybe this Murdoch scandal will force it back the other way or at least closer to the center. We've been on a crazybatshitride now for far to long...time to reign in the insanity.

agents provocateurs are more than happy to help spread this stuff far and wide. They pretend to be leftists, but are really only in it to bash the black man in the White House and sow FUD wherever they can.
Arianna Huffington is one of these people. Many others post on erstwhile leftist sites, always seeking out anything they can spin to be damaging to President Obama.
This is an organize, well-funded operation, folks.
