Come on Obama, tell the American people the freaking truth. |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-19-11 12:43 AM by Elwood P Dowd
Get on the Teeeveee thing and lay it on the line. It will only take 5 minutes.
Hold up a one-page bill and then hold up something the size of the New York telephone book that the repukes want to add to that bill. Tell the people how the repukes want to destroy Social Security, Medicare, and all the other beneficial plans that help millions of our citizens. Stop being Neville Chamberlain and become FDR.
Edit to add: Do it in PRIME TIME on Tuesday night!!

(or was it Wilt Chamberlain...or the Neville Brothers...?) Anyway, I do understand that, but the general tone was just encouraging him to FIGHT and bust the repubs big time, which i think we all agree with. P.S.....:hi:

16. So right you are, Elwood P Dowd. |
|
That is why, assuming Obama is not trying to pull something sneaky over on the American people, he doesn't just go directly to the people and explain his proposals and the Republican proposals.
All these secret negotiations just make Americans nervous. How can we trust Obama when he doesn't tell us what is going on with these negotiations. After all, as he pointed out, he has $5 million in his accounts.
Those of us who are just getting by are getting quite frightened by the sneaking stuff going on in D.C.

35. Obama '12 will still be the lesser of 2 evils |
|
But that's a real huge plunge from Obama '08. He's not the hero of the working and middle classes that we all thought he was back in '08. He is unlike the GOP in that he doesn't want us to be beaten quite as badly as does the GOP. At least that's the story I'm hearing from him (by his actions and inactions) so far.
So I'll probably vote for him in '12. No, actually I won't vote FOR him. I'll just vote against whoever the Repubs run against him. And then I'll go home and drink myself into a coma. :-(

Something he obscures all the time, from ignoring the base on bush prosecutions. From his moving forward meme, meant to say don't punish past evil deeds of war criminals. He is a master manipulator. To selling out the middle, and lower classes to the rich. To trashing progressive values on war, which goes against peace that we stand for. I will not vote for him or support him under any circumstances.

41. At this point...Obama is either complicit in crimes... |
|
...or he's going to do something about it.
Yes, I understand--the big, bad neocons and the scary Grover Nordquist, James Baker and Henry Kissinger will be mad if you speak out.
But what choice does Obama have?
To watch this country slip away into a sick, dark state, or do something?
The dynamics of this are no different from a bunch of junior-high-school bullies picking on someone and intimidating them with fear and power.
Just tell it like it is. If you don't, soon or later, everyone will know that you said and did nothing when you could have saved this nation.
Silence is the abusers best friend.

46. How about he reads section 4 of the 14th Amendment instead? |
|
It's just ONE SENTENCE but it says it all: The public debt of the United States is not to be questioned.
WHY IS OBAMA ALLOWING THE REPUBLICANS TO QUESTION IT THEN?
He should simply get on TV, read the amendment aloud, and read from the Executive Order he is giving to Treasurer Geithner to PAY the debt and dare the Republicans to take it to court.
