Murdoch is bleeding red ink. This is about the health of the company... from a financial standpoint
This is not surprising and the scandal just entered phase two. It is deep enough Newscorp might not survive.

This whole scandal might even have been started by internal leaks by higher ups dedicated to getting Murdoch out of the way.
Yes, I'm deeply cynical.
