1. Arianna Stassinopolous Huffington has always been in it for the profit |
|
It's all about market strategy. She decided to play the "left", the "liberals", the "progressives" sensing where the country was going in the late 1990s. It was too crowded a field in the "right" so she decided to use differentiation. Using her media presence in programs like Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher she began to cast herself as a champion of liberal progressive causes. When not too long before she was championing Newt Gingrich & supporting cuts in social programs.
The sensationalism on that site lets me know this is just a money-making venture for her. I don't trust her one bit. John Lucas

5. Was she Republican-loyal during the entire Politically Incorrect run or just part of it? |
|
Did she seemingly change overnight toward the 2000s like 1998, 1999? I know the show ran from 1993 to 2002. It was on Comedy Central from 1993-1997 & on ABC from 1997-2002. Did she begin to transform near the end of the ABC run? Was it before or after 9/11?
Somewhere along the line she switched teams so to speak. But I don't think her motives were at all genuine & I still don't. I don't think most of those chronic media personalities mean what they say to tell the truth. It's all lures for ratings. Ratings = money. I believe Arianna Huffington decided to play another game especially after Bush Jr. got in there. She saw an opportunity & made a play for the "Liberal" audience. Then ran this all the way to the bank.
I didn't notice it at first when I used to visit Huffington Post but eventually I started noticing that this site used tabloid tactics. Lots of pointless stories on there. Titillation, sensationalism, shock value, misapplied facial poses on the pictures to hit emotional marks. There are good articles on there but the ultimate point of Huffington's ventures isn't providing balanced commentary, isn't standing up for the Progressive cause, but just to line Arianna's pockets by any means necessary.
I guess you can pick up on the theme that I doubt her sincerity. John Lucas
