Has Murdoch been wiretapping and blackmailing American politicians?
Is that the explanation for their radical swing to the right? Is that why we no longer have Democrats on our side? Is that why Obama is ruling as Bush III?

1. Hopefully we'll find out and fix the problem.
When are we going to start emptying the prisons so we can start filling them with the real criminals?

Big road block to anything resembling democracy there.

4. More bribery and propaganda than anything else.
Only in America we give it nice names, like campaign contributions and news broadcasting.

The wiretapping, blackmail, honeytraps and dirty tricks are reserved for special problem cases and those who threaten to stray from the reservation, like Bill Clinton, Elliot Spitzer and Anthony Weiner.

13. News of the World phone-hacking whistleblower found dead
Edited on Tue Jul-19-11 08:57 AM by electropop
Death of Sean Hoare – who was first named journalist to allege Andy Coulson knew of hacking – not being treated as suspicious

"not suspicious" - this from the London police who have already been implicated in the Murdoch scandal for not investigating it.

Amelia Hill, James Robinson and Caroline Davies guardian.co.uk, Monday 18 July 2011 18.04 BST Article history

Sean Hoare, the former News of the World showbusiness reporter who was the first named journalist to allege that Andy Coulson was aware of phone hacking by his staff, has been found dead .

Hoare, who worked on the Sun and the News of the World with Coulson before being dismissed for drink and drugs problems, was said to have been found at his Watford home.

Hertfordshire police would not confirm his identity, but said in a statement: "At 10.40am today police were called to Langley Road, Watford, following the concerns for the welfare of a man who lives at an address on the street. Upon police and ambulance arrival at a property, the body of a man was found. The man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained but not thought to be suspicious. Police investigations into this incident are ongoing."

THIS IS WHAT MURDOCH DOES TO TROUBLEMAKERS AND SPECIAL CASES. BLACKMAIL IS JUST DAILY BUSINESS.

There was an unexplained delay in the arrival of forensics officers at the scene.

11. Murdoch was the only paper of any stature to publish THIS story
2 days after the events:

And then the NY Post was hit in the anthrax attacks. You can't make this stuff up.

17. Are you implying it was self imposed?
That's an interesting take on it. Murdoch sent anthrax to his own paper? That actually makes sense.

18. It was the fringe papers like the NY Post and the Enquirer
who went with a story that others would not touch -- Bush was told weeks before 9/11/01 that AQ was planning on using airplanes to attack buildings in the US. Both of those papers received anthrax in the mail. I don't think Murdoch has access to military anthrax nor would he shut down his own paper for the cleaning that was required. I think blackmail and intimidation are part of power politics and I think Murdoch or his empire have messed with the wrong people on occasion. The present situation being one of them.

16. If so, does surveillance by right wing suppress left wing?
I think this is what we've all been wondering.

And why wouldn't it. No communication would be free.

I don't know. I'm not thinking clearly about this yet. But when people like Pelosi and Obama (who clearly did not set off my bs detector) start doing odd things, I have to wonder. Odd meaning, not doing what we expected of their character. Even if we didn't have votes to impeach. Many many things have happened over the last few years. Minor things, even.

And also, Bush and Cheney being able to get away with a private meeting during the so-called 911 commission, not under oath. They could do this because only papers like the NY Times would even mention it. All the rest were giving passes and praise.

20. Maybe they brought down John Edwards?
I know the Enquirer actually broke the story to the public but I'm guessing it was common knowledge in Wash and in the media well before we found out.

We'll see you in the 9/11 forum soon enough.

I'm sure they never, ever thought about trying to control anything important.

That seems to be the general consensus, anyway.

((Being Very free with the sarcasm.))
