Anyone curious about the parents?
Not a mention from the press. Not a peep from them. I'm sure they're devastated, but you would think they would appoint a spokesperson to express condolences for their son's victims. I'm not trying to blame them, I just know if my child had committed such a heinous act, I'd reach out and express some sort of sorrow and regret to the victims and their families. Other parents have done the same - as in the case of the Virginia Tech shooter. Just curious...

3. Me. I tried to google for information about them but all I could find
were endless numbers of tweets and posts for an online prayer circle for them. Starting will hillbuzz site, with which I am not familiar.

4. You don't know what they've been told to do.
Or what they are capable of even doing right now. They are collateral damage in this tragedy.

7. Here's an article about Loughner's parents
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2011/01/neighbors-jared-loughner-and-f.html?wprss=44

(snip)
Neighbors and former classmates from nearby Mountain View High School described Loughner and his parents as loners who rarely spoke even to their immediate neighbors.

"You try to say something, they'd just ignore you and turn around and walk back into the house," said Ron Johnson, 60, a retiree who lives directly opposite the Loughner's tan, one-storey home. "The kid - I never talked to him. He acted just like his parents and ignored you."

8. I hope they are being left alone
by the media. I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling. I don't care if they are baggers or libertarians or green and slimy they are parents and their son has done a horrible thing, ruined the lives or ended the lives of others, ruined his life and made theirs incredibly painful.

Yes, I am curious but not enough yet to hope to hear about them yet. I can't imagine their pain.

21. I have a very dear friend at work
whose cousin committed one of the worst murders (of a child) here in decades. He's in prison now - thankfully. But my friend has talked to me a lot about what this did to her family. It was just devastating.

Even despicable criminals can come from decent families. We need to remember that.

23. They are probably teabaggers, and think their neighbors are
insufficiently teabaggerish, hence the rude antisocial behavior.

Guess we won't be hearing any apology or condolences for the victims and fimilies.

11. How can you really blame friends or family of a mentally ill person for what he did?
Other than not getting him the help he needed, it's not immediately apparent that the parents raised him wrong.

They are probably avoiding the press for now, until they can make some sense of what happened.

16. Unless they did not try to get him help or
gave him an home environment to grow up in which fostered mental illness. That happens frequently.

14. If that was my son I would have had a spokesperson release a statement by now
But everyone reacts differently to tragedy so I am not judging them.

If he hasn't, that may be why they've remained silent.

22. If they do not issue a statement expressing sympathy for the victims by TODAY sometime,
we will know without a doubt that they are teabaggers. JMHO.
