Wow the wingnut Fox-defending propaganda was THICK on NPR this morning...
Among the grossly inaccurate, ill-informed, and idiotic statements:

1. "Americans are not really engaged in this issue."
2. "The US media is in excellent health."
3. "The US media is liberal."
4. "The media's involvement in government and law enforcement in the US isn't as insidious as it is in the UK"

:wtf:

It is clear to me they have been given their 'marching orders' as to how to 'frame' this issue. Everyone here knows the establishment media in the U.S. is at LEAST as corrupt and smarmy as it is in the UK - ALL of it - not just Murdoch's. But it's now clear to see they intend to cover this up, lie about it, point fingers, minimize, and self-righteously wholesale declare that it's somehow "different" over here and that people just are not "engaged" in the issue.

They of course couldn't BE more wrong....and they KNOW it. Thus, their vehement defense of their own criminal practices. Every establishment media outlet in the U.S. is complicit in the same practices.

They have proven to me with this morning's propaganda - once and for all - that they are indeed as corrupt and insidious in the U.S. as the U.K. - at the very least.

By the way this was on the Diane Rehm show this morning on NPR if anyone heard it or wants to listen to it on demand.

It was utterly otherworldly. Downright Orwellian.

You can clearly see where we're headed with this - absolutely nowhere. They mean to just bury it as if there's "nothing to see here" - oohhh but there is. As for expecting our (also complicit) government to do anything? Forget it.

4. It was expected...
The case was just an episode of curious entertainment for most Americans, but last week when the stench of scandal started to taint Rupert's American outlets, then we all knew the press would be in hail mary defense mode....
